Professor Ching-Zong Wei, the former director of the Institute of Statistical Science, Academia Sinica, passed away in November 2004 at age 55 after a long struggle with brain tumors.

    In recognition of his contribution the Institute organizes the Statistics and Probability Conference to honour his memory. The Conference will be held on December 12-14, 2005, at Academia Sinica.  Many of Ching-Zong Wei's friends, students and colleagues all over the world (Invited Participants) will attend the Conference  to pay respect to him. A monograph based on a selected set of papers presented at the Conference will be published to mark the event.
